February 8

Sometimes things don't go like we want, but in the end, it hardly matters. A week from now, a month from now, none of this is going to matter; it'll all just be old news. So I'm not gonna let the loss (to Beach, of all teams) get me down. It happens, and even the best teams lose out. All you can do is keep your chin up and go out to play; lay your best out on the floor, and at least walk away knowing that you gave it your all.

And the only attitude I can change is my own; I don't need to take the blame for a game that was lost because we beat ourselves, and I don't need to let it get me down, either. Next time, I will keep my chin up, and I will be a driving force all by myself regardless of whether the team is backing me up or not, because in the end, the only person I can improve is myself.

Thank God for parents with a good perspective. =)

  1. Great attitude Erica! The one thing that WILL stick (and I can already see it is with you) is the lesson of keeping that chin up and taking the next step. Reminds me of the fact that God promises to be the light unto our path which can show us where to step next. Keep your eyes fixed on Him and listen for His voice because that is where your true identity lies!
